A fantastic opportunity is available for a Head of Marketing to join a global, market leading book distributor on a maternity cover to create, develop and implement the Group marketing strategy to meet the needs of the overall business plan & keep abreast of business objectives and changing market conditions.

The key responsibilities of the Head of Marketing include but are not limited to: 

  • In conjunction with Sales Directors, increasing market share through the design and implementation of an aggressive marketing plan based on thorough analysis and evaluation of local markets (UK and international).
  • Strategic planning including market and competitor analysis and corporate positioning and working collaboratively with key publishing partners to create strategic marketing plans.
  • Work closely with Sales to develop and manage channel and partner strategies, overseeing the marketing of all brands within the company – library, academic, wholesale, in both print and digital formats.
  • Develop, manage and maintain a high performing and motivated team to suit business requirements.
  • Delivering all marketing activity to time and to budget – both costs and rate card incomes.

The successful candidate for the role of Head of Marketing will ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • Exceptional track record of developing and implementing marketing strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives.
  • Experience of B2B and retail marketing as well as brand building and customer acquisition.
  • A Strong combination of traditional marketing and digital marketing skills.
  • Motivational and an excellent communicator, both internal and external, across all levels of seniority.
  • Education to degree level or CIM/industry qualified.

Your key responsibilities will include XML database management and implementation, aiding the web development team with creating an ASP.net site, provision of technical maintenance to existing sites and systems, researching web technologies and assisting with the database administration.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the editorial strategy, acquisition and management of a portfolio of publications and new online reference material. We have an exciting Production Controller vacancy working for a popular, London based Children’s Publisher.

 

This role will work on four colour book front list titles as well as book plus products. Key responsibilities of this role will include working closing within your team as well as external contacts in the Far East to manage the production process from manuscript to delivery. You will be able to manage busy schedules as well as safety testing experience would be very advantageous. The successful candidate for this role will have excellent communication skills in order to be able to negotiate print prices and liaise effectively with colleagues and external suppliers.

This is a great opportunity to join a leading trade book publisher as a Revisions Coordinator.  This role will project manage the revision of a list of titles across one of their extensive, popular and highly successful backlists and will include working across a range of well-known titles, in print and digital editions. You will be working as part of the editorial team for this range of titles and the Revisions Coordinator will commission and liaise with writers and fact-checkers, out -of -house editors and various in-house departments.  Other duties will involve some research and content editing, as well as quality control.

 

The successful person will ideally have some experience in travel publishing, or from a trade books background, with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and produce high-quality editorial work accurately to tight schedules and within budget. You should be comfortable working in InDesign and possess a good knowledge of illustrated book publishing.
