A leading International academic publisher in London are currently recruiting for a full time/permanent  Customer Services Group Manager. This senior position is responsible for managing a team of 15 staff who work on processing book orders and journals subscriptions and supporting customers. You will also work be involved in managing a migration project. This will involve significant change management and training of staff in new processes. 

 

Key duties:

  • Play a key role in transitioning  books to new fulfilment system
  • Merge the books and journals teams into one department
  • Manage the changes necessary to work in the new environment
  • Define new job roles and review resourcing levels in light of the changes.
  • Where necessary make recommendations to create new roles or change existing roles and team structure.
  • Manage the workload off-shored to India.
  • Work with the team to identify further tasks which could be transferred from London to India and manage the steps required to transition the transfer.
  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure that the quality of service offered and SLA’s are being met by the team.
  • Support customers in EMEA, APAC and INDIA.

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Previous people management experience preferably in the Publishing

Key duties:

  • Attend regular calls with distributor and be the first point of contact
  • Ensure that any new developments or updates are thoroughly investigated and tested ensuring that there are no issues with the successful delivery of content
  • Coordinate the supply of metadata from publishers to distributor
  • Manage any changes in ONIX feeds/metadata for retail partners, ensuring successful integration and testing is carried out
  • Be first point of contact for HUK’s publishing divisions for routine re-pricing of titles around format changes and/or Agency price schedules.
  • Oversee any future developments/new product types as required
  • Ensure that the relevant documentation is kept up to date on process, and any technical updates/requirements are clearly communicated to the third party clients.

A leading academic publisher is looking to appoint an Inventory/Purchasing Controller to take responsibility for allocated lists. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience working for a well-known and prestigious publisher.

 

Key duties:

  • Maintain stock for allocated lists, manage reprints and at risk titles
  • Handle queries from other departments and from international colleagues
  • Prepare reprint estimates using tools provided and plan international stock transfers
  • Prepare files for print-on-demand and decide when to switch to print-on-demand
  • Establish purchase orders and select printers, monitoring delivery of titles and arranging shipment
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date data and assist line manager to oversee costs

 

Experience / skills required:

  • Some experience in an inventory/purchasing role is required
  • Excellent numeracy skills and an understanding of inventory management
  • Strong IT skills including MS Office (Sharepoint/Outlook), FTP software, Dialogue and Vista
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships
  • Able to prioritise and to follow procedures
  • Flexible and adaptable attitude
