ELT Sales Executive – UAE

Our client, a global provider of ELT resources is currently seeking a Sales Executive to cover the UAE (with travel to Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar).

Field based in the UAE, the Sales Executive will promote key ELT products and solutions in the educational institutions to maximise revenue. The main responsibilities include:

  • Achieving revenue targets within the defined territory
  • Visiting key institutions to promote relevant products and solutions
  • Effectively implementing sales and new business strategy
  • Developing a new British Curriculum Schools list and sales strategy
  • Identifying new business and adoption opportunities
  • Contributing to new business development
  • Arranging, preparing and delivering presentations
  • Monitoring competitor activity
  • Ensuring compliance with company and legal regulations
  • Effectively managing all areas of expenditure.

You will need an affinity to ELT market and sales experience, ideally in the educational publishing industry. Crucially, you should be fluent in English and ideally Arabic, be highly motivated, well organised, with good time management and the ability to work well as part of a team.  Excellent presentation, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills will be required, as will a clean driving license.

Marketing Manager (Journals) 3 months

A Marketing Manager is required where you will be  developing and executing marketing plans and communicate with customers to drive article submissions and readership of journal articles. This role involves line management of a small team/ individual and may include travel to conferences  and is for a period of three months, starting in January 2017.

Key duties:

  • Strategic planning, execution and analysis of journal portfolios

  • Develop and deliver strategic campaigns to new and existing customers

  • Deliver monthly forecasting, campaign costing and to work within agreed budgets

  • Manage, analyse and report on ROI of marketing campaign activities

Working closely with the Publisher, you will be responsible for sales, marketing, publicity, stock management, and social media. Production Controller - Children's Books

Are you a skilled book production controller, looking for more variety in a production role? Would you like to work for an innovative trade publisher in their children’s division? 

This is an excellent role working on an extensive range of Children’s books and co-editions, including front and
backlist titles (not novelty books). There will also be the opportunity to play a creative role in developing new projects, costing new projects and negotiating prices, specifications and schedules with Far East and European suppliers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the production process from conception to delivery of mono and 4-colour printed books and also as digital and audio versions
  • Project costing, scheduling and negotiating with suppliers
  • Overseeing files supply to repro and printers
  • Chairing meetings and standing in for line manager
  • Coordinating shipping and delivery requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant  book production experience (children's production experience not necessary)
  • Good understanding of mono and 4-colour book production
  • Strong communication, organisation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail

This role would suit an experienced production controller, looking for the next step and a broader production experience. Our client, a leading professional membership body seeks a Project Editor on an initial 6 month FTC. As part of the content team, you will help manage the publishing programme, ensuring books and digital content are published on time, to budget and to a high quality.

 

Strong project management skills are of course an absolute must and you will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects at once. Your projects will be a mix of print and digital and so someone with experience in both would be ideal and we are really looking for someone who is able to assist in developing digital content workflows.

 

Other aspects of this job include: working on new books and content proposals, author liaison, production and design and working with editorial systems. You will do well in this role if you can run project smoothly, manage freelancers and have smooth professional relationships.

 

The successful candidate will have project management skills and experience of MS office, Adobe Professional, digital products and ideally of using a workflow management system.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Inventory Planning Team Leader to join a large international publishing company. Based in offices in the South of England, the Senior Inventory Planning Team Leader will lead the stock planning team to ensure targets are met, policies and strategies adhered to and working practices continually improved.

 

Key duties:

  • Responsible for demand/supply planning, monitoring/forecasting demand and stock levels to action timely and accurate replenishments
  • Track forecast versus actual volumes to identify causes of inaccuracies and ensure use of best-fit statistical models
  • Maintain MRP master data, including safety stock levels, to align with agreed strategies and service levels
  • Manage the digital print program to ensure titles are costed, set up and ordered in a timely manner
  • Integrate any acquisitions that might arise into the existing business processes
  • Ensure stock planning processes are in line with warehouse inventory management requirements
  • Manage, motivate and lead the stock planning team
  • Ensure there is full compliance with international SOXA requirements and perform quarterly self-testing

Experience / skills required:

  • Established inventory/supply chain planning experience, ideally in publishing
  • Knowledge of ERP or MRP systems and their use in planning
  • Advanced data management and manipulation skills and analytical abilities
  • Experience working with statistical forecast models
  • Experience of Continuous Improvement concepts and techniques
  • Strong leadership abilities are essential and previous line management advantageous
  • A pro-active approach and the ability to manage a fluctuating workload

A leading society publisher based in London is looking to recruit a Production Editor to join their friendly editorial production team.  The organisation publishes world-leading sources of information in the medical field and has expanded its publishing portfolio to include  major Open Access journals.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Production Editor to provide editorial support to the Editorial/Production department to focus on the production workflow for their most prestigious titles.

This is an important role within the team and will manage the editorial production for the list of journals, which will include editing, liaising with the managing editor, freelance copyeditors, external partners and other in-house colleagues as necessary.  This role also manages the editorial production of the annual print issues.  Other duties will involve managing the production of online only material, ensuring they are edited to agreed standards and are uploaded onto the sites on time.  You will create artwork briefs which provide appropriate guidance to typesetters regarding the content and layout of illustrations; liaise with authors, production staff and external editors.

The successful person will be of graduate calibre or equivalent with strong editorial skills, including some experience of copyediting and proofreading.  You should be able to demonstrate experience of managing a varied workload and able to work to deadlines.  Experience with MS Office is essential and some experience/knowledge of the production process would be advantageous.  Experience of medical publishing would be an advantage but is not essential.
